Cool Old Pics of Ancient Oaks Airpark

February 2010, Steinhatchee, FL
Bobbi and I visited the homestead at Ancient Oaks this month and other than being cold, it was a great visit.  Two new hangars are up and two more foundations are poured.

While there, we visited with Gerry and Connie, who gave us some great pictures of Ancient Oaks and Steinhatchee from about 1976!

Gerry landed his PA-11 on Hwy 19 & 51 and taxied into the old gas station on the SW corner.  The station is now the Sunoco.

Great Lakes Flies!
6/13/09
June turned out to be a productive month for Bipe, Inc.  The Stearman was completed at the beginning of the month and the 1931 Great Lakes was completed today.  It features an updated panel, a Warner Scarab 165 for power and paint by Eric Frier.  This was another complete ground-up restoration.  The Lakes flew "hands off" on its first flight.  Click on the picture for a few more pix.  Photo by Eric Frier

Search Tool Added to Site
2/6/09
I added a Google search feature to my website.  It is located both on this page, on the left, and on my Skybolt Construction page.  Now you can search the whole website by just typing in key words.  Try it!  I seems to work well.

Restored Stearman Flies Today!
11/21/08
After working for 18 months restoring this Boeing PT-17 Stearman all of us at Bipe, Inc. were watching like proud papas as the test pilot put the maiden flight on the 66 year old classic.

Brought back from the dead as a retired crop duster, this museum quality aircraft hadn't flown since 1973.  It originally served as a primary trainer in the Army Air Corps during 1942.  Click on the picture to see more pictures of the Stearman.
